Nonlinear stability and instability of the incoherent state for the kinetic Kuramoto-Fokker-Planck equation

Abstract
In this talk, I will present recent results on the neutral
stability of the incoherent state to the kinetic Kuramoto-Fokker-Planck equation. Depending on the relative sizes of the coupling strength and diffusion coefficient (noise strength), the incoherent state can be stable and unstable. For these stability and instability results, we will employ elementary energy estimates without using any spectral information. This is a joint work with Dr. Qinghua Xiao (Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, CAS).
