The scenario of direct Dark Matter searches registered in the last decade a few positive results in the low WIMP mass region. The strongest of these is the Dama/Libra, a modulation of the scintillation signal in NaI crystals with high significance. This can well be interpreted as the variation in the interaction of the galactic WIMP halo due to the Earth trajectory around the Sun. SABRE aims to perform a novel measurement with NaI of higher purity, reaching a lower energy threshold and with the benefit of active background rejection in liquid scintillator. Two twin detectors will be exposed at LNGS and in the Stawell mine in Australia to allow a clear identification of the signal over any modulation of terrestrial origin.
