Consequences of the Higgs discovery for the SM and beyond

The Higgs discovery, and the precise determination of the Higgs mass, have important implications concerning the stability of the Standard Model (SM) at high energies, and the nature of physics beyond the SM. We review such implications, and outline what could still be learned from future precise studies of Higgs physics.
