HOME PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS HOW TO REACH L’AQUILA AND GSSI

 

The Workshop “Multiple Messengers and Challenges in Astroparticle Physics” aims at creating a stimulating and yet informal atmosphere in which groups of scientists working in Astroparticle Physics may debate major open questions in the field and possible ways to address them. The workshop will have few plenary seminars per day to provide a picture of the status of selected fields, while the rest of the time will be left for open discussion and impromptu talks. The Workshop is bound to have at most about one hundred attendees. Four Working Groups (Cosmic Rays, Gamma rays, Neutrinos, Gravitational Physics and Cosmology) will take care of the planning of the discussion on a day-by-day basis. Each working group will have a small number of conveners that will be responsible for planning activities and coordinate with other working groups. In fact, it is clear that strong interaction between different groups is not only desirable but highly encouraged. The informal nature of the workshop, which we hope will result in numerous open debates, is not very suitable for proceedings, therefore we decided that the conveners, at the end of the workshop, will write review papers that try to make a summary of the discussions. Springer has already agreed to publish such papers in a dedicated volume, that may eventually also represent a guideline for graduate students willing to carry out their research activity in the field of Astroparticle Physics.

 

The Workshop will be held at the Gran Sasso Science Institute of L’Aquila (Italy) from October 6 to 17, 2014.
