Master Classes: Researching Planning in the Fragmented City

The class will consist of a lecture and a seminar reflecting the basic principles of research in contemporary research in urban studies and urban planning. It will pay particular intention on the general frame of urban change from a fordist and modern city to a city characterized by forces of economic and cultural globalization as well as technological innovation in the fields of mobility, information and communication. The course will be based on research the lecturer has undertaken on subjects of participation, urban transformation and architectural Programmes like the IBA.
